How do I quickly and permanently delete spam from the spam folder?

1. Go to the Spam folder.

2. Select all messages with CTRL-A .

3. Press SHIFT-DELETE to permanently delete all messages.  Once this is done you can not get the messages back. A less permanent method is to just press the DELETE key which moves the messages into the Deleted Items folder.
